Grass Lake Middle School STEM Program Receives JCF Grant
Grass Lake Middle School in Grass Lake, Michigan, is proud to announce that the staff and students have been awarded a $300 grant from the Jackson Community Foundation (JCF). The funding comes from the Kellogg Foundation Youth Advisory Committee Endowment Fund to help cover costs for the Grass Lake Middle School's 7th grade STEM trip to "Math and Science Day" at Michigan's Adventure in Muskegon, Michigan in the Spring of 2017. The grant application was completed and submitted by GLMS staff member Mary Magos and 7th grade student Leah Allen on behalf of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) students at Grass Lake Middle School. GLMS Announces 2nd Quarter Honor Roll
Congratulations to our Grass Lake Middle School students whose academic achievements have landed them on the 2nd quarter honor roll for the 2016-2017 school year. The GLMS honor roll is for students who received a 3.5 GPA or higher for the second marking period. High Honors are for students who received a 3.85 GPA or higher. Well done students!
Grass Lake Students Headed for Regional Spelling Bee
Grass Lake Middle School and George Long Elementary School have announced their grade-level winners for their spelling bees. These students who will be representing Grass Lake at the South Central Michigan Spelling Bee at Western High School on March 14, 2017. 
Our champions are:
5th Grade: Nichole Rapert

6th Grade: Devyn Cook
7th Grade: Jack Easterday
8th Grade: Chad Hennemann. 
Well done students, and good luck at the regional spelling bee!
Boater Safety Classes March 25 and 26
The Jackson County Sheriff's Department will be holding free boater safety certification classes at Grass Lake Middle School on Saturday, March 25, and Sunday, March 26. Participants must attend both days to receive certification. Students from all schools are welcome. Go to http://bit.ly/2jKtqVx to find out how to register.
Heart & Sole Registration Begins for MS Students
Registration is open for Heart & Sole! Our brand NEW middle school program at Grass Lake Middle School is open to all 6th – 8th grade girls and will meet afterschool on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:00pm – 4:30pm, March 13th through May 26th.
